From Altoona, PA
ROCK THE RACEWAY FROM ALTOONA
Altoona sits about 70 miles east of Jennerstown across the Allegheny Front. The drive takes roughly 90 minutes on a mix of US-22, US-220, and US-30. Rock the Raceway 2026 is on Sunday, August 23, with gates at 1 PM, music starting at 2 PM, and the live finale wrapping by 9:30 PM.
The Altoona to Jennerstown drive
The simplest route is US-22 west to I-99 south, then US-220 south through Bedford, picking up US-30 west into Jennerstown. The drive goes over the Allegheny Front, which is scenic and mostly four-lane.
Alternate: PA-869 west from Roaring Spring through the Bedford area can shave 5 to 10 minutes if I-99 traffic is heavy. Most fans stick with the interstate.
Day-of stops
Bedford is a good lunch or coffee stop roughly two-thirds of the way down. The Bedford Springs Resort and historic downtown make it a worthwhile detour. From there, US-30 west climbs up into the Laurel Highlands and drops into Somerset County.
The Horseshoe Curve and Railroaders Memorial Museum back in Altoona are worth a Saturday before the festival if you make a full weekend of it.
Make a weekend trip
Altoona is a 90-minute drive each way, which makes the festival doable as a long day trip. But Somerset, Bedford, and the Donegal/Seven Springs corridor have lodging for fans who want to stay over. Saturday-night racing at Jennerstown Speedway Complex pairs with the festival Sunday for a full weekend.
