SOMERSET COUNTY MUSIC EVENTS 2026
Somerset County, Pennsylvania anchors one of the largest live music events of 2026: Rock the Raceway, held August 23 at Jennerstown Speedway Complex. The festival caps a months-long online battle of the bands featuring artists from across the region.
Why Somerset County
Somerset County sits at the geographic center of the Laurel Highlands, a 90-minute drive from Pittsburgh, Johnstown, Cumberland, and Morgantown. Jennerstown Speedway Complex has anchored local entertainment for nearly a century. Hosting Rock the Raceway here puts a regional music festival in a venue that is already a familiar destination for fans across four states.
The county also brings outdoor recreation that pairs with a festival weekend: Seven Springs Mountain Resort, Hidden Valley, Ohiopyle State Park, and the Great Allegheny Passage rail-trail are all within a short drive.
Local communities served
Somerset, Boswell, Hollsopple, Davidsville, Stoystown, Ligonier, Latrobe, Greensburg, Connellsville, and the surrounding small towns make up the core local audience for Rock the Raceway. The free shuttle plan published 30 days before the event will run from designated park-and-ride lots in Somerset and Boswell.
Local artists from these communities are encouraged to enter the competition. Artists from across the region and beyond are welcome to register.
Other 2026 dates to know
Jennerstown Speedway Complex runs its regular Saturday-night NASCAR Weekly Series racing program through summer 2026. Rock the Raceway is on the off-night Sunday following one of those races, so weekend visitors can plan a Saturday race plus Sunday festival combo.
The Somerset County Fair, the Mountain Craft Days festival in early September, and the Laurel Highlands Pro Rodeo round out the late-summer event calendar in the area.
